Tallahassee, FL - Coming off her Tournament MVP performance at the ACC Women’s Soccer Championship, Florida State’s Kelsey Wys added Team of the Week honors from TopDrawerSoccer.com to her list of accolades after leading the Seminoles to the league title.
Wys made three saves during the penalty kick shootout as Florida State defeated Wake Forest 3-1 in pks to capture its first ACC Championship.
After both teams exchanged goals in the second half, neither school was able to find the back of the net in two, 10-minute overtime periods forcing penalty kicks to determine the 2011 ACC Champion.
Florida State and Wake Forest converted on its first penalty kick opportunity, but Wys stopped the Demon Deacons on their next three kicks to help the Seminoles to the win.
Wys finished the ACC Tournament allowing just two goals in over 304 minutes of action. She registered 10 saves en route to posting a goals against average of 0.59 for the championship.
