Athens, GA - The Georgia women’s swimming and diving team is ranked No. 2 in the initial TYR/College Swimming Coaches Association of America poll released on Wednesday.
The Lady Bulldogs (4-0, 1-0 SEC) trail only Stanford in the rankings. The Cardinal rolled up 734 points from members of the CSCAA board, while Georgia earned 713. Texas, which will visit Georgia on Jan. 15, is No. 3. Other SEC schools in the rankings include No. 4 Florida, No. 10 Auburn, No. 11 Tennessee, No. 17 Arkansas and No. 22 LSU.
On the men’s side, the Bulldogs secured the No. 13 spot. Georgia is off to a 2-2 start overall with an 0-1 mark in the conference. Texas has the No. 1 ranking, followed by California and Stanford. The SEC is further represented by No. 4 Florida, No. 7 Auburn, No. 15 Tennessee, No. 16 Alabama, No. 22 LSU and No. 24 South Carolina.

Georgia’s teams will return to action Dec. 3-5 in the Georgia Invitational in Gabrielsen Natatorium. The meet will include both teams from Auburn, Virginia and Penn State, the men’s squad from Minnesota, and the women’s teams from Kansas and Harvard.
