Lady Eagles Drop Indian River State, Improve to 6-1

Ocala, FL - FCCAA No. 3/NJCAA No. 13 Tallahassee Community College rebounded from its first loss of the season to defeat FCCAA No. 7 Indian River State College (5-2), 64-51, on day one at the Florida College's Women's Basketball Shootout.

The win improved the Lady Eagles to 6-1 and capped a perfect 5-0 day for the Panhandle Conference at the Shootout.

In addition to Tallahassee's victory, No. 1 Pensacola State College defeated the College of Central Florida, 88-50; No. 2 Gulf Coast Community College defeated Hillsborough Community College, 85-77; No. 4 Northwest Florida State College defeated Brevard Community College, 96-56; and No. 5 Chipola College defeated St. Petersburg College, 60-58.

Alexis Grant paced Tallahassee in Friday's win with 15 ponts. Kamiya Burwell added 13 points.

The Lady Eagles will play Palm Beach State College at 1 p.m. Saturday on day two of the Shootout.
