Tallahassee, FL - The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) released its Division I Women’s Basketball Poll on Wednesday and Tallahassee Community College earned a No. 14 ranking.
Tallahassee (11-3) was ranked No. 13 in the previous two polls.
The Lady Eagles also dropped from a tie at No. 2 to No. 4 in the FCCAA Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Poll, released on Tuesday.
Tallahassee dropped a 66-49 decision to No. 10 Gulf Coast Community College in Tuesday's Panhandle Conference opener - the first of what could be 12 straight games against nationally-ranked teams. Led by No. 1 Pensacola State College, all five PC schools are again ranked in the NJCAA poll - Northwest Florida State College is No. 5 while Chipola College is No. 21.
The PC quintet also holds down the top five spots - in the same order - in the FCCAA rankings.
On the men's side, Tallahassee (15-4) dropped out of the NJCAA poll but still received points in the voting. The Eagles fell one spot to No. 7 in the FCCAA Men's Basketball Coaches' Poll.
Tallahassee will travel to Pensacola, Fla., on Saturday for a PC doubleheader against Pensacola State College. Game times are 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
