Lady Eagles Fall to Central Florida, Split Games at Lady Commodore Holiday Classic

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (December 18, 2010) – FCCAA No. 2/NJCAA No. 13 Tallahassee Community College dropped a 63-52 decision to FCCAA No. 6 College of Central Florida on day two at the Lady Commodore Holiday Classic, hosted by Gulf Coast Community College.

In Friday’s Classic opener, Tallahassee defeated Florida State College at Jacksonville, 63-47.

On Saturday, Tallahassee trailed by only one at the half, 29-28, but Central Florida used a 34-24 advantage in the second 20 minutes to secure the victory.

Keri Thomas continued her stellar play of late with 19 points to pace Tallahassee (10-2). Christina Solmon added eight points and Alexis Grant, six.

On Friday, Thomas scored a game-high 27 points to lead the Lady Eagles. Diamond Ashmore followed with 12.

After 11 straight games on the road, Tallahassee will return home for its final non-conference game on Tuesday when it hosts Georgia Perimeter College at 3 p.m.
