Lady Eagles Roll Past Hillsborough for Second Win

Marianna, FL - Four players reached double-figures for FCCAA No. 4 Tallahassee Community College on Friday afternoon, and the Lady Eagles defeated Hillsborough Community College, 75-61, on day one at the Collegiate Girl's Basketball Report Classic.

Diamond Ashmore scored 13 points for Tallahassee, as did Devan Matkin, the latter of which helped the Lady Eagles' reserves to a 22-2 advantage over their Lady Hawks' counterparts. Alexis Grant added 12 and Keri Thomas scored 11 for Tallahassee, who is now 2-0.

Tallahassee led 37-24 at the half and eventually led by as many as 22, 70-48, in the second stanza.

Danielle Bennett scored a game-high 31 points for Hillsborough, who was playing its season opener.

The Lady Eagles will play Santa Fe College on day two at the Classic at 3 p.m. Saturday.
