OCALA, Fla. (December 12, 2010) - Playing in front of its home crowd, FCCAA No. 6 College of Central Florida ended the ninth annual Florida College's Men's Basketball Shootout with an 84-48 victory over FCCAA No. 6/NJCAA No. 23 Tallahassee Community College on Sunday evening.
Sunday's outcome left both teams with identical 11-3 records.
Tallahassee trailed by double digits just two minutes into the game. Things only got worse from there.
The Patriots shot 68 percent from the floor in the first half to build a 53-21 lead at the intermission. Tallahassee, meanwhile, hit only 6-of-27 from the floor in the first 20 minutes.
Central Florida's lead grew to as much as 43 in the second half.
Twelve Central Florida players scored, led by Mathiang Muo's 21 points.
Leek Leek led Tallahassee with nine points.
The Eagles will return to action on Tuesday evening when it hosts Hillsborough Community College. Tip-off is at 6 p.m.
