Thomasville, GA - In The Sun Conference action, SCAD - Savannah (10-5-1, 6-2-1) defeated Thomas Women's Soccer (8-7-1, 3-5) 3-1 on Senior Day at the TU Soccer Complex.
SCAD opened the scoring just three minutes into the game and held the 1-0 advantage for fifteen minutes. At the 19:43 mark of the game, senior midfielder Alex Mangnas received a pass from sophomore forward Jodi Wright inside the 18 yard box and deposited the ball with one touch to the lower right corner of the goal.
The score remained even till midway thru the second half when SCAD took the lead. SCAD tacked in an insurance goal with three minutes to secure the victory.
The game marked the second to last home game for the four Lady Night Hawk seniors. Mangnas (Stockholm, Sweden), Megan Jacobson (Spring Hill, FL), Myra Jenkins (Venice, FL), and Reem Moussa (Abu-Sinan Village, Israel) were all honored prior to kick off. During the celebration players received framed pictures and flowers from the coaching after being escorted to midfield by family and friends.
With the loss, TU drops to 3-5 in conference action. The Lady Night Hawks will wrap up their regular season home schedule on Friday at 1PM in a non conference match up against Georgia Gwinnett College, in the final home game for the four seniors. TU will return to TSC action on Sunday October 28 at 1PM, when they travel to Lake Wales, FL to face Warner University in a rescheduled game from a rain out earlier in the month.
