Tallahassee, FL - Nine straight games. Florida State has had no breaks in between. But finally the Seminoles are on a bye week right before their road trip to Virginia Tech.
"We're still locked in to what we have to do," senior quarterback EJ Manuel said. "We have a game in seven days now, being that it is next Thursday. So we're not going to take too many days off mentally or physically."
With the extra preparation, the 'Noles are back to the basics.
"You don't forget about it but you have to refine them," junior defensive end Bjoern Werner said. "Sometimes you get so used to something that you kind of let slip away really from the 100 percent assignment."
But Head Coach Jimbo Fisher thinks the team's best medicine earlier this week was no football at all.
"The grind, the hours, the mentality. Just that...get your mind off of something for awhile, how much it refreshes you and brings you back," he said.
