LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Sophomore kicker Maikon Bonani hit a
37-yard field goal in overtime to give South Florida a 24-21 win
against Louisville Saturday as the Bulls become bowl eligible for
the sixth straight season.
Bonani's winning kick avenged a missed field goal that would
have won the game with time running out.
The win mopped up a lethargic game for South Florida (6-3, 3-2
Big East), which saw sophomore quarterback B.J. Daniels throw for
just 87 yards and a touchdown and sophomore Demetris Murray rush
for 106 yards.
Louisville reserve quarterback Justin Burke threw for 146 yards
and three touchdowns, while senior running back Bilal Powell added
140 yards on the ground -- his sixth triple-digit rushing game this
Louisville (5-5, 2-3) erased a 14-13 halftime lead after the
Bulls capitalized on two interceptions.
