Marianna, FL - After spotting Chipola College a 5-0 lead, Tallahassee Community College pulled within a run before falling to the Indians, 6-4, in Panhandle Conference baseball action on Monday evening.

Coupled with Northwest Florida State College's 3-0 win over Pensacola State College, the Eagles (34-15, 6-10 PC) are on the brink of elimination from postseason contention heading into a two-game series against the Raiders (7-7 PC). The teams will play in Niceville on Wednesday and back at Eagle Field on Friday.

Tallahassee trails Northwest Florida State by two games for third-place in the PC standings. The Eagles have just four games remaining while Northwest Florida State has six.

Trailing 5-0 on Monday, the Eagles began to mount a comeback in the fourth.

With one out and nobody on, Tallahassee got back-to-back singles from Quincy Nieporte and D.J. McKnight. Following a strikeout, Cody Borup and Robert Henderson delivered consecutive RBI-singles to cut Chipola's lead to 5-2.

Henderson picked up another RBI in the sixth when his sac-fly scored McKnight, and Dicks singled home Johnny Blue Craig an inning later to pull the Eagles within a run.

After scoring four runs in the first 1.2 innings against Tallahassee starter and losing pitcher Shawn Herbert, Chipola was limited to just one run and two hits over the next 5.2 innings by relievers Ryan Deckert and Collin Strall.

Chipola picked up an insurance run in the eighth, which was charged to Strall. After walking his second straight batter, Strall exited in favor of Logan Elliot.

Danny Mars promptly stole second and advanced to third when Henderson's throw went into centerfield. Mars scored on a single by Josh Merrigan.

Still, Tallahassee had a chance in the ninth, as Henderson drew a leadoff walk and Jonathan Burkett singled, the latter coming against the Indians' Taylor Lewis, who strayed from his typical role as a starter to record the save.

With the tying runs on base, Lewis struck out Craig and Dicks lined into a game-ending double play as Tallahassee fell to 1-6 since coming out of an eight-day layoff on April 4.

Both Borup and Dicks went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Henderson was 1-for-1 with two runs driven in.

Wednesday's game is slated for a 6 p.m. eastern first pitch.
