Tallahassee, FL - Picking up where they left off at the end of the 2010 basketball season, the Tallahassee Community College Lady Eagles have earned a No. 29 ranking from the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), who released its preseason basketball polls on Tuesday.
TCC peaked at No. 9 in the national polls during the 2009-10 campaign before ending the season with a No. 12 ranking. The Lady Eagles, 20-9 a year ago, advanced to the Florida Community College Activities Association (FCCAA)/NJCAA Region VIII Championship Game before falling to eventual national champion and Panhandle Conference rival Gulf Coast Community College.
TCC is one of three PC schools in the NJCAA’s preseason top 30. Gulf Coast will open defense of its national title with the No. 1 ranking while Pensacola State College is No. 14.
The FCCAA Preseason Coaches’ Polls will be released on Wednesday.
The Lady Eagles open the 2010-11 season at home Sunday, November 7 with a 2 p.m. tilt against Miami Dade College.
