Tallahassee, FL -- Tallahassee Community College placed a total of nine players – six women, three men – on the Coaches’ All-Panhandle Conference basketball teams.

Of the nine total selections, two – women’s basketball’s Shanequa Phifer and men’s basketball’s Leek Leek – were named first-team all-conference, both for the second straight season.

Phifer, a sophomore from Salisbury, N.C., led Tallahassee and finished fourth in the Panhandle Conference in scoring at 15.1 points per game. Though not in the running for PC Player of the Year honors, a case could be made for Phifer as the league’s most valuable player. During Tallahassee’s 12-game league schedule, Phifer logged the full 40 minutes 11 times and played all but a total of seven seconds. In PC play, she averaged 16.7 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.0 steals.

Leek, a sophomore from High Point, N.C., averaged 8.4 points and a team-high 5.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 28 games. In PC play, Leek averaged 6.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.6 blocks.

In the women’s voting, sophomore Christina Solmon and freshmen Sarah Williams and Zairra Harris were second-team all-conference selections while freshmen Natasha Ballard and Yanique Gordon were named honorable mention.

Tallahassee had two players named second-team all-conference in the men’s voting: freshmen Joell Hopkins and Tramain Parker.
