Valdosta, GA - In a season that culminated in an NCAA National Championship for the men’s tennis team, three players earned All-American honors from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.
Daniel Dueren, Philip Pakebusch and Christian Hansen all earned an All-American nod. Pakebusch was named for his singles play while Hansen earned the honor based on his doubles work with Dueren. Dueren was named in both singles and doubles.
Dueren teamed with Hansen to complete a 17-3 record, going undefeated against conference opponents and regionally ranked teams and finishing 5-3 against nationally ranked teams.
Individually, Dueren was 16-2 on the season, going 14-2 in the second slot for the Blazers. He was 7-2 against nationally ranked opponents and 6-1 against regionally ranked foes.
Pakebusch teamed with Dueren to make a formidable pair at the top of VSU’s singles attack. Pakebusch finished the season 10-2, going 6-1 against nationally ranked opponents and 5-1 against regionally ranked opponents.
