Three Earn All-ACC Honors

Greensboro, NC - Georgia Tech seniors Anthony Allen and Sean Bedford were named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference and sophomore Omoregie Uzzi was named second team All-ACC in balloting conducted by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association.

Bedford, a former-walk on, was named first team All-ACC for the second
straight year.

Georgia Tech has placed at least two players on the All-ACC first team
in each of the last five seasons. Since 1982, the Yellow Jackets have
had 81 first team All-ACC selections.

Allen ranks second in the ACC and 19th nationally in rushing with 1,225
net yards and an average of 102.1 yards per game. Allen, who has rushed for more than 100 yards in a game five times this season, averages 5.6 yards per carry and has rushed for six touchdowns. He ranks eighth on Tech’s all-time single-season rushing list.

A Georgia Tech running back has been named first team All-ACC in each of the last four years - Tashard Choice in 2007, Jonathan Dwyer in 2008 and 2009, and Allen in 2010.

Bedford, who was converted from a walk-on defensive lineman into an
all-conference center under head coach Paul Johnson, is a finalist for
the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. The aerospace engineering major was
named one of the “20 Smartest People in Sports” by Sporting News.

Uzzi, in his first year as a starter at guard, has been instrumental in
helping Georgia Tech lead the nation in rushing offense (327.0 yards per

Eight Yellow Jacket offensive linemen have earned first or second team
All-ACC honors over the last four years combined.

Georgia Tech, 6-6 overall and 4-4 in the ACC, is bowl-eligible for the
14th consecutive season.
