Two Seminoles Named to All-ACC Team

Tallahassee, FL - Florida State University volleyball players Visnja Djurdjevic and Stephanie Neville have been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Team, announced today by the conference.

Both outside hitters were two of 18 players honored by the conference. Djurdjevic, a junior, was the Conference USA Co-Player of the Year and an American Volleyball Coaches Association Honorable Mention All-American last season. She leads the Seminoles with 341 kills, 3.31 kills per set and 400.5 points. Djurdjevic is fourth in the ACC with 13 double-doubles, and is in the Top 5 in the conference in service aces, points and kills.

Djurdjevic, a Zitiste, Serbia, native, is also averaging 3.07 digs per set, second on the team. She has four matches this season in which she has garnered 20 or more points, including contests against New Mexico State (21), at Boston College (23.5), at Virginia (21) and against North Carolina (22). Djurdjevic was also the ACC Co-Player of the Week on Aug. 30.

Senior Neville has had arguably her best season as a Seminole. The Cambridge, Ontario, native leads FSU’s outside hitters with a .272 hitting percentage and is second on the team with 276 kills. She has recorded double-digit kills in 13 of her 29 matches played, including a career-high 17 at Virginia on Oct. 31.

Neville was named the ACC Player of the Week during the 2008 season, and was an All-ACC Academic Team member in 2009. She is also a two-time ACC Academic Honor Roll player.

FSU volleyball has now had multiple all-conference selections for the last four seasons, including a school-record four players from last year.

Junior setter Kellie Catanach of Duke was named the ACC Player of the Year, while Duke’s Jolene Nagel was named the ACC Coach of the Year. Junior libero Kaylie Gibson of North Carolina was chosen as the conference’s defensive player of the year, while Virginia right-side hitter McKenzie Adams was picked as the ACC Freshman of the Year.
