Athens, GA - The University of Georgia volleyball team returns to the friendly confines of the Ramsey Student Center this weekend for matches against 17th-ranked LSU and Arkansas.
Georgia (11-10, 3-7 Southeastern Conference) will play host the 17th-ranked LSU Tigers (17-2, 8-2 SEC) on Friday at 7 p.m. ET, and on Sunday, the Bulldogs face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks (9-12, 3-7 SEC) at 1:30 p.m.
In the all-time series with LSU, the Tigers lead 27-19 with wins in the last four meetings including a 3-0 victory in Baton Rouge, La., earlier this season. LSU won that match with set scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-21. UGA's last win in the series came back in 2008 in Athens.
In the all-time series with Arkansas, the Razorbacks lead 15-7 including a 3-2 victory in Fayetteville, Ark., earlier this season. Arkansas earned that victory with set scores of 25-12, 25-26, 21-25, 25-13 and 15-10. UGA's last win in the series came in 2009 as the two teams have split the last six meetings at 3-3.
UGA will play this weekend's two matches coming off of a four-match road swing. The Bulldogs have 11 regular season matches remaining with seven of those contests coming at the Ramsey Student Center.
Friday and Sunday's matches will also be the final two home matches in Georgia volleyball's Dig Pink Month for Breast Cancer Awareness. The Bulldogs started the Dig Pink Month on Oct. 3 against Mississippi State and have been raising funds to donate to the Athens Breast Health Center. Fans can donate at this weekend's matches, and on Sunday against Arkansas, the volleyball team will present the Athens Breast Health Center with the donation from the entire month of fund raising.
