Valdosta's Rome, Mitchell to Join UGA Bulldogs

Valdosta, GA - Jay Rome has made his decision. He'll take his football skills to Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs.

WCTV Sports has learned that talented tight end Jay Rome will be taking his skills from Valdosta to Athens, Ga.

Rome's teammate Malcom Mitchell made his decision later in the night at Hibachi Grill and Buffet in Valdosta. His declaration was similar to Rome... The 2 Wildcats announced they'll remain teammates but in Athens, GA as members of the UGA football team.

According to the ESPN 150 Poll, Jay Rome is the 13th best prospect in the nation. Malcolm Mitchell is ranked 45th in the Nation on that same ranking. has Jay Rome ranked 56th in the nation and Mitchell ranked 30th overall.

Also in the Thursday night hoopla, Valdosta's Jermaine Holmes made his announcement known... The talented inside linebacker picked Marshall over UNC, UAB, Illinois and Louisville.

Fellow Wildcat Jarquez Samuel will also join the Thundering Herd. The 6-foot-5 defensive end also chose Marshall Thursday night in Valdosta.
