Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston was recognized, not in Tallahassee, but his hometown of Bessemer, Alabama.

Saturday was declared Jameis Winston Day where he finished his Golden Gopher career at Hueytown High School.

The Heisman Trophy Winner and FSU National Champion's list of accolades include Consensus All-American, Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award Winner, Walter Camp Football Foundation Player of the Year, ACC Player of the Year and more.

"You can do anything you want to do. If you want to be a cook, get in my grandma's kitchen and start cooking right now, I'm trying to tell you, if you want to be a pro athlete, go out there to the field right now, anybody can pick up a ball and throw it against the wall, we got walls everywhere, make yourself better guys," Winston said to the crowd at his high school.

The Noles football season begins August 30th at Oklahoma State.
