Junior midfielder Carina Spengler opened the scoring for the Night Hawks 5:10 into the game on an assist by junior forward Emma Hewett. TU made it 2-0 when Hewett chipped the GGC after a long thru ball by junior defender Hannah Claesson. Georgia Gwinnett made it a one goal game at the 32:34 mark. Two minutes into the second half senior Myra Jenkins made it a two goal game once again after knocking home an assist by sophomore forward Jodi Wright. The Grizzlies of GGC struck back five minutes later but Thomas put the game away in the 61st minute of the game when Hewett penetrated a thru ball behind the GGC backline that was finished on one touch by senior midfielder Reem Moussa.
TU will wrap up the regular season with a TSC match against Warner University on Sunday at 3PM in Lake Wales, FL. The game was originally scheduled for October 5th but was postponed due to rain. The Lady Night Hawks will be seeking a victory to secure a #6 seed in the Conference Tournament.
