Athens, Ga -- UGA continued to ride its momentum from this year’s stellar recruiting class into 2012.

The Dawgs received commitments from Jenkins County High School teammates Jonathon Taylor and James Deloach last weekend.

Both Taylor and Deloach, who referred to themselves as a “package deal”, had several scholarship offers from top programs around the country, but opted to stay in state by choosing UGA over runner-up FSU.

Taylor is a 6’4, 325-pound defensive tackle that is the no. 36 overall prospect in the nation and expected to be the top-ranked high school player in Georgia next season, according to

Deloach is listed as a 6'3, 260-pound defensive end, but has the versatility to also play linebacker. The three-star prospect is the no. 59 defensive end in the nation, according to

Taylor and Deloach’s announcement highlighted a productive weekend for UGA, which saw four players pick to play between the hedges. The Dawgs currently have 10 commitments for their 2012 recruiting class.

Meanwhile, FSU also has 10 recruits for the 2012 season, including landing a pair of five-star defensive ends in Mario Edwards and Dante Fowler Jr. ESPN rated the Seminoles the nation’s top recruiting class earlier this year.
