TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Aug 1) - The 2012 Florida A&M Football season is set to kickoff in a month as the Rattler Gridders are set to report on Monday, August 6 with the annual fall Orange and Green set for Saturday, August 25 at 6 p.m. in Bragg Memorial Stadium.
On Monday, the FAMU Football players will move into their rooms and will end the day with a 7 p.m. meeting in the Galimore-Powell Field House.
Then on Tuesday, August 7, the Rattlers will spend the day in a series of meetings dealing with academic orientation, equipment pickup and will conclude the day with a team meeting at 7 p.m.
On Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, the Rattlers will hit the field for a short team walk through at 3 p.m.
The Rattlers will conclude their acclamation week with the annual FAMU Football Media Day and Fan Appreciation Day, on Saturday, August 11 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alfred Lawson, Jr., Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium.
FAMU will hold two-a-day practices on August, 14,16, 21 and 23 with the first practice slated for 5:45 a.m. until 7:40 a.m. Then the Rattlers will hit the field for second practice at 3:30 p.m. until 5: 45 p.m.
Then the Rattlers will hold single day practices on August, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, and 24 with practice beginning at 3:30 p.m. and ending at 5:45 p.m.
The Rattlers will hold an intra squad scrimmage on Saturday, August 18 at 9 a.m. on the Rattler practice field and will hold their annual fall Orange and Green Game on Saturday, August 25 at 6 p.m. in Bragg Memorial Stadium.
FAMU will open up their 2012 campaign as they will travel to Nashville, Tenn., to take on Tennessee State in the 14th annual John Merritt Classic at LP Field in a 6 p.m. CST start.
Two weeks later, the Rattlers will open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play as they will host Hampton University at Bragg Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 6 p.m. EST
