It's a brand new era of Orange & Green baseball. The FAMU baseball team have stepped onto the baseball diamond at Moore-Kittles Field. The Rattlers are gearing up to swing into a spring season worthy of MEAC contention.
With new head coach Brett Richardson calling the shots, the Rattlers and their revamped roster are ready to begin full-time practice. However, NCAA rules limit the amount of time a coach can conduct practice with players this early into the baseball preseason. As a result, the new coach can only spend 2 hours per week on the same field as the players. Coach Richardson spends about 4 30-minute practices a week with his players as they dust off the gloves and get the rust off their homerun trots.
The new FAMU roster includes talented newcomers from Rickards and Chiles high schools to name a few.
