TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Feb. 6) - In the final day of the 2011 FAMU NCAA Bowling Tournament, the Florida A&M Bowling team finished third, here Sunday afternoon at Seminole Bowl.
Sam Houston State (Huntsville, Texas) won the event as they defeated Prairie View A&M, 4-2 in the Bakers format championship game.
The Lady Rattlers were ousted in the quarterfinal round of the tourney as they fell to PVAMU 4-2.ED The Lady Panther won the first match 194-160. FAMU would rebound in the second game as they defeated PVAMU 177-156.
In the third game the Lady Rattlers and the Lady Panthers would battle to a 138 tie.
PVAMU would win matches four (201-189) and five (178-171) to take a 3-1 lead.
The Lady Rattlers would cut the Lady Panthers lead to 3-2 as they won game six (180-160) to force a seventh game.
PVAMU would win the seventh and deciding game 157-145 for the 4-2 win.
