FAMU Volleyball Falls to Georgia

ATHENS, Ga. (Aug. 27) - The Florida A&M Volleyball dropped their second match of the 2011 Hotel Indigo Bulldog Invitational as they fell to the University of Georgia in straight sets, 3-0 (25-23, 25-21, 25-11), here Saturday afternoon at the Ramsey Center.

FAMU (0-2) was paced by Marija Jovanovic with a team high eight kills, followed by Katherine Huanec with six. Diana Gonzales led the Lady Rattlers in assists with 22, while Joanie Del Castillo led the team in digs with seven.

In the first set, FAMU fell to UGA 25-23. Then would drop the second set 25-21 and the Bulldogs would win the match as they defeated the Lady Rattlers 25-11.
The Lady Rattlers finished with 28 kills, whereas the Bulldogs tallied 43.

UGA (2-0) was led by Kathleen Luft as she recorded a game high 12 kills, followed by Brittany Northcutt and Briana Bahr with eight kills each. Kathleen Gates led the Bulldogs in assists with a game high 34,while Allison Summers finished with a game high 13 digs.

The Lady Rattlers will return to action on Saturday, Aug. 27 as they take on Liberty University at 4 p.m. in their final match of the 2011 Hotel Indigo Bulldog Invitational at the Ramsey Center.
