FAMU Will Not 'Roll Over' for USF

Tallahassee, FL - The odds are clearly against them. The media, everywhere, isn't giving them a chance. But FAMU isn't giving up that easily.

The Rattlers are realists, though. They know that people have written them off for Saturday's game against South Florida, ranked 20th in the Associated Press Poll.

"It's a pretty big test," Sophomore Quarterback Austin Trainor said. "We don't need to come out and roll over, that's for sure. We need to give 'em everything we got."

It's as big of a test as they should see all season. The Bulls beat Notre Dame and followed that up with a win against Ball State.

"My whole idea as a coach is to compete," Head Coach Joe Taylor said. "And if you compete, then you always got a chance."

The Rattlers have had 18 chances against BCS foes, but have only won once. That was 32 years ago against Miami.

Last week's loss to Hampton didn't help their case, either. But, maybe, it provided a knock in the head that could change the dynamic of the team going forward.

"This will raise our team's confidence as a whole," Senior Defensive Tackle Nicolas Hollinghead said. "We're gonna pretty much need this game heading into the rest of our MEAC games."
