Saturday's showdown inside Bragg Stadium features two teams fighting to earn their first MEAC Crown in some time. The last conference title for the Rattlers was in 2001, the last for the Morgan State Bears, 1979. Needless to say, whichever team wins, takes one step closer to ending that streak.
FAMU head football coach Joe Taylor says,
"Win out and everything is in our hands, so each game is a championship game. To be in this position after all that this team has been through this year, speaks volumes for the fact that these guys do have character and are still fighting."
The past few meetings between these two teams have come down to the wire. Since 2006, the combined margin of win in those four games, has been only 9 points.
Joe Taylor adds,
"It's going to come down to will and who wants it the most."
The Rattlers don't want another let down and have the Bears crash the party, like they did in 2008.
FAMU junior wide receiver Kevin Elliott adds,
"We're the reason why everyone comes to homecoming so we'll focus on preparing for the show on Saturday."
It should be another great MEAC battle when the two teams line up between the white lines at three on Saturday.
Kevin Elliott adds,
"Get your popcorn ready."
