Tallahassee, FL (AP) - Florida State has played away from home
just once this season -- and got creamed.
And now the most difficult part of the Seminole's schedule -- in
terms of travel -- begins Saturday with a visit to Virginia (2-1)
for a noon kickoff to help the Cavaliers inaugurate their Atlantic
Coast Conference schedule.
Florida State (3-1, 1-0 ACC) has only home game between Sept. 25
and Nov. 6 -- against Boston College on Oct. 16.
With three of the Seminoles next four on the road, including
back-to-back trips to Virginia and Miami, first-year coach Jimbo
Fisher wants to avoid a meltdown similar to the 47-17 implosion at
Oklahoma on Sept. 11.
Although he doesn't plan to change his preparation for the trip,
Fisher said Monday that sometimes it's easier on the road where the
players can close ranks to prepare for a hostile crowd and adverse
