The Seminoles came back to Tallahassee with a Founder cup, a win on the road, and a 2-0 start in the ACC.
"It was huge for us, especially making that step forward, and we talked about all last week we had our first home win against an ACC team but the crucial step was going out on the road and doing it, especially after Oklahoma we weren't sure how we would respond to an away game, but we responded really well" says Senior Quarterback Christian Ponder.
The last time the Noles were 2-0 was 2005, eventually leading to an ACC championship. The win against Virginia not only put the Noles in great position in the ACC, but was also a stepping stone to this week's match-up against the Miami Hurricanes.
Ponder adds, "I think that give a lot of the young guys confidence and a lot of the older guys confidence that we can do it, so I think it was important to have that game before this game."
The Noles and Canes are not only a deep rivalry with a long history, but this game will set the tone for the rest of the season.
"This game is even going to be bigger and there's going to be a lot more hype to it, but we just have to prepared like its a regular game and it just starts today and then the rest of the week will really determine the outcome of the game." says Ponder.
