Tallahassee, FL -- December 13, 2011 --

1976 was the first year Bobby Bowden stepped into the head coaching role for the FSU football team. Here we are nearly 36 years later and coach Bowden stepped into Doak Campbell Stadium for the first time as former head coach.

Would you believe after 34 years on the sidelines coach Bowden spent nearly 2 years away from the program. Tonight, he was the guest speaker at the Tallahassee Quarterback Club end-of-the year banquet..

Bowden told reporters he didn't get emotional about the much anticipated return to Florida State. He also said the urge for coaching has turned into a passion for watching.

"I coached 57 years, I guess that was enough. At my age, 82, you don't have any hankoring to get out on that field anymore. But what it does, it enables me to watch games. I've seen more games in that last two years than I've ever seen in my life."
