With Saturday's win over the Florida Gators, Jimbo Fisher completed his first regular season as head coach of the Seminoles, and made his mark on the college football landscape. In his first season he won the state of Florida with wins over Miami and Florida by a combined score of 76 to 24, and now has his team set to play for the ACC title.
FSU head football coach Jimbo Fisher says,
"Anytime you can break a streak of six years, you know the Gators are a great football team, Urban is a heck of a coach and they do a great job, and to have a win over a quality opponent like that,e specially not being able to beat them in six years is a great thing for our fans, our players, and everybody involved with Florida State."
The win was also the seniors last one inside Doak Campbell, to conclude four years that have not been the greatest for Florida State.
Jimbo Fisher adds,
"What they've been through the last four years here and all the controversy from the academics to the coaching change, things they had no controll over. These guys didn't say anything they didn't complain, the just worked and lined up and did everything that we asked them to do."
