Three straight twenty wins seasons and three straight trips to the NCAA basketball tournament for Florida State. That ties a school record only accomplished one other time. The Seminoles basketball season is extended by at least one game.
FSU head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton says,
"I'm kind of excited about just getting together and practicing and getting prepared to have an opportunity now to play for a national championship.
The prior two visits to the big dance have been just that, visits. Florida State has yet to see the round of thirty two but with more than half of the roster having post season playing experience, they know how to prepare for this week both physically and mentally.
"I'm sure they'll come in to practice this week realizing that we need to be sure we're on out 'A' game right from the beginning of the game and not allow ourselves to get behind like we did last year."
The 'Noles will face Texas A&M in the second round. A team that finished third in the Big 12 and advanced to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
"They're well coached, we've seen bits a pieces of them. As we finish the evening off we'll prepare and make sure we know as much about them as possible.
Tip off is set for 4:10 from the United Center in Chicago.
