For all the setbacks Seminoles have been through this year, they still managed to fight their way to the sweet 16 for the sixth straight season.
FSU head soccer coach Mark Krikorian says,
"We have a commitment to excellence here. That's what it's about and we're asking these players everyday to make the right choices, to sleep properly, to stay hydrated, to get in the cold tubs and take care of their bodies and our belief when we're recruiting the kids is we're going to teach them how to become pros and national team players. Yeah it's unfortunate we lost Tiff and Jess early on, we're going to be better in the future with them."
The Seminoles advanced to the third round of the NCAA tournament with wins over Middle Tennessee State and South Florida, but it's only just the beginning if they want to accomplish what they set out for.
Mark Krikorian adds,
"The goal is to compete for national championships, that is the goal. We want the best student athletes we can have but the goal is to compete for national championships and if we had lost today then every one of us would be disappointed and we would go back and evaluate on how we can be better. I'm proud of our group, I'm proud of what we continued on in the tradition that Patrick Baker started, but out work is not done yet."
