Tallahassee, FL -- FSU women's soccer head coach Mark Krikorian is spending his Fourth of July holiday abroad. Serving as a scout for the US Women's World Cup Soccer team.
"For me it's a joy to really be able to go watch, to observe," says Krikorian. "I'll be at eight different games watching teams from each of the different continents and actually having a role as a scout for the US national team."
The women's team coaching staff has a strong connection with coach Krikorian and Florida State. All have been on the sideline with him at one point in time.
Krikorian adds,"Pia Sundhage, the head coach, was an assistant of mine for two years. The goalkeeping coach, Paul Rogers, everyone in Tallahassee may remember. He was a goalkeeper coach for a couple of years. Erica Walsh in Tallahassee here as well is an assistant coach with the team. For me it's nice to be able to give back and work with such quality individuals."
He'll be all throughout Germany until the quarterfinals before returning home. There's no down time when he returns though. It's straight back to running camps before opening FSU's season in early August.
