TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida State women’s soccer team defeated Miami, 4-1, in a spring exhibition Saturday afternoon as four different players scored a goal to run the Seminoles’ record to 1-0-1 this spring.
FSU newcomers Anna McClung and Ani Sarkisian each registered a goal and an assist to lead all players in the win, while Kelsey Wys and Cassie Miller split time between the posts.
The Seminoles cracked the scoreboard first on Saturday as Dagny Brynjarsdottir found Nora Kervroëdan for the goal to give FSU a 1-0 lead.
Miami tied the match at 1-1 finding the back of the net on a set piece. But the Noles would answer right back to take the lead for good on a goal by McClung. Kristin Grubka created the scoring play as she dribbled forward and set a cross to McClung, who one-timed the pass for the goal and a 2-1 advantage.
McClung and Sarkisian would pair up for FSU’s third goal of the afternoon to give the Seminoles a two-goal lead. McClung slotted Sarkisian, who ran on and found the back of the net for the goal.
Jamia Fields closed out the scoring on Saturday finishing on a wide open net after taking a beautiful pass from Sarkisian that faked out the Hurricane goalkeeper.
