Tallahassee, FL - The Seminoles are done celebrating their Orange Bowl win. Now the focus turns to the changes in 2013. One of the most obvious changes is the graduation of about 20 seniors.
"We have laid a great foundation here and there's a heck of a football team coming back," Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said.
Fisher is right, there is a good core coming back next fall. But he can't account for some surprises like the announcements from Xavier Rhodes, Menelik Watson and Bjoern Werner who are off to the NFL.
Even James Wilder, Jr.'s chants of "one more year" to Werner couldn't convince the All-ACC defensive end. But Wilder may have to worry about earning one more year himself after being arrested this past Sunday for the third time in 11 months.
And with Chris Thompson declining the medical redshirt and opting for the draft, Devonta Freeman could be the only returning running back.
"I think we can have a tremendous offense in the future in where we're going and the things we can do," Fisher said.
However, defensively, the coaches will not be the same. Mark Stoops took the head coaching job at Kentucky and four others followed for other gigs. But Fisher is swiftly filling in the missing parts with more on the way.
Especially with national signing day only a month away, Fisher hopes to add to his 16-player recruiting class.
But, there could be more departures from this year's roster.
"Talking to my family and praying with my pastor and going back to Tallahassee and sitting down with Jimbo and hopefully come up with something," junior linebacker Christian Jones said.
