Tallahassee, FL -- With one week until Christmas Eve, the Florida State women's basketball team, took time away from the court, to help give back to the less fortunate.
"It's really a big deal for us," says FSU senior guard Morgan Toles. "As athletes sometimes you take for granted things that we get, so to be able to come and do these things for people, it's big for us."
At the Christmas Connection in Tallahassee, the team put together wish lists for less fortunate families.
"For us to be able to come and see somebody else, it kind of makes tear up a little bit just because you can make such a big difference in someone elses life," adds freshman forward Ebony Wells.
"For all of us that do have so much, it's just so important for us to do whatever we can to give back," adds head coach Sue Semrau. "I hope we give back an entertainment value when people come out and watch us play but more than that, we want to get out as individuals and make sure we're a big part of this community."
Besides from the Christmas Connection, on Thursday, the team will be handing out toys and food to families at the Salvation Army off Tennessee Street.
