Tallahassee, FL -- Heading into the season, depth was one of Florida State's strength. That depth has come into factor as the season moves on. First, Greg Reid was dismissed from the team, then in the first game, preseason All-American Brandon Jenkins went down with a Lisfranc injury and is out for the season. Now, it's Chris Thompson.

"It's all part of it, it's a shame," says head coach Jimbo Fisher. "We've lost some really good football players. It isn't a good thing to be number four is it."

Through the setbacks, Florida State has managed to persevere, and still be one of the top teams in the country.

"Unfortunately those are things that happened," Fisher adds. "You're sorry for the guy but you have to move on, just like life. You have to go and worry about it when the game is over."

"It's been tough, because a lot of times, those are our key players," adds senior quarterback EJ Manuel. "Guys are having serious injuries, injuries that are putting them out for the season."

Through each injury, there has been another player waiting to step in and fill the role.

"We've got a lot of good leaders on this team," adds Fisher. "Lonnie (Pryor) and EJ ( Manuel) on offense. You have a lot of guys, a lot of character guys on there. Cam Erving, (Brian) Stork. We talked about that going in, and I think that's part of what we overcame.

One that will be impossible to replace.
