Chipola Junior College left-handed pitcher Michael Mader was selected by the Miami Marlins as a supplemental pick (105).
The Boston Red Sox choose Chipola centerfielder Danny Mars in the 6th round (194).
Mars says he is most likely not coming to FSU and will sign with the Red Sox.
"I've talked to Coach Martin and talking to my parents tonight, but we're definitely leaning towards signing my pro contract and I don't think there is any doubt that I am going to get my pro career started. It's a dream to get drafted in the 6th round by the Red Sox, it's not something that happens to everyone everyday> I dont think I will be able to turn it down but also at the same time playing at Florida State that is an accomplishment in itself, it is an honor to even be committed there. To be on scholarship there was a dream of mine even before any of this happened so it's a dream to play in the major leagues and to be selected by a team like the Red Sox is unbelievable but it hasn't sunk in yet. Everything happens for a reason and I actually moved down from Maryland my sophomore year of high school to pursue professional baseball, now like today the dream finally came true," Mars said.
Mader looks like he's leaning towards pro ball instead FSU.
"I've told Coach Martin and them that its highly likely that I do sign and I will not attend FSU however we are still going to go through the contract this weekend and see how the dice rolls and go from there and told him I should have a for sure decision by Monday," Mader said.
