Tallahassee, FL -- December 29. 2011 --

Prior to the kick-off of the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl, The Florida State University announced a contract extension for second-year head coach Jimbo Fisher. The one-year addition will extend Fisher’s contract through 2016. There was no change to the financial structure of the head coaches’ contract.

“I’m very grateful and very respectful,” said Fisher. “Florida State is a job you want to stay at forever. The faith the university has in us, the program and the direction in which we are going, we feel very fortunate. We are committed to this and they are committed to this. We are very blessed and thankful to President [Eric] Barron, our athletic director Randy Spetman and our Board of Trustees for the extension. We’re very excited about the future and where our program is going.”

i just don't understand what the university see's in him. we'll start out in the top five again next year, then we will go through the downhill spiral again, then win some good games, then lose some bad games. also lets be realistic, Gators r not gonna keep losing they will make a come back then its gonna be the same thing over and over again with the Jimbo merry go round. guess we'll have to take it one day at a time.
