Florida State closes out the home schedule tonight against 13th ranked North Carolina with a chance to do something that has never been done in FSU history, have an undefeated record against conference opponents at home.
FSU senior guard Derwin Kitchen says,
"To finish out undefeated at home, and then to try and steal one on the road, that would be huge. That would put us in a real good position."
In the first meeting the Tar Heels rolled over FSU with a 20 point win in North Carolina.
FSU men's head basketball coach Leonard Hamilton adds,
"They kind of had their way with us when we went up to Chapel Hill. They played excellent basketball. We have a tremendous amount of respect for them and we need to be at our very best."
It will also be the final game for Derwin Kitchen wearing the garnet and gold in front of the home crowd.
'I've come a long way. Not really ever knowing if I was going to get a chance to play and finally make it to senior night, and be a part of this team that is in a position to make the NCAA tournament again. That means a lot to me."
"There's not doubt that he's had a history and a very tremendous part in the progress that we've made. We just hope that this is just the beginning and the best is yet to come."
"It's going to be bitter sweet Wednesday, but at the same time I've enjoyed my career."
If history is to repeat itself then all signs point to a Florida State win, the 'Noles have won on each of their last five senior nights.
