Tallahassee, FL - Florida State University junior defender Toni Pressley, who kicked the game winning goal against USF in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, has been named to the TopDrawerSoccer.com “Team of the Season” as a third team member. Pressley was honored earlier this week when she was named to the TopDrawerSoccer national “Team of the Week” for her efforts against Middle Tennessee and USF.
Pressley (Melbourne, Fla./West Short) has scored three game winners in 2010 and has helped lead the Seminoles as the top ranked defense in the ACC allowing only 15 goals all season and has kicked a team high three game winning goals in 2010 (Mercer, Boston College and USF).
Two Seminole freshman, goal keeper Kelsey Wys and defender Kassey Kallman, have also been named to the prestigious TopDrawerSoccer “All Rookie Team” as second team members.
Wys (Coral Springs, Fla./Majory Stoneman Douglas) led the ACC this ACC in shutouts (11), save percentage (.864) and was second in goals against average (0.59).
Kallman (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury) has been a pillar of strength for the Seminole defense and contributed to the Seminole attack registering three goals and two assists on the season, including the game winner against UCF.
In addition, the Seminoles (15-5-1) moved up to No. 6 in the national rankings as sponsored by TopDrawerSoccer – up from their previous No. 10 ranking last week.
The Seminoles’ are currently playing in their 11th consecutive NCAA Tournament and have advanced to the Sweet Sixteen for the sixth straight year after they defeated Middle Tennessee and USF in the first two rounds. Florida State now plays host to Marquette in the third round of the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, November 20th at 1:00pm.
