Florida State was selected to it's seventh straight women's basketball tournament, but by the reaction of the players and coaches, you would have have though it was their first.
FSU junior center Cierra Bravard says,
"It's always exciting. It's just the anticipation of where we're going to go and who we're going to play."
FSU women's head basketball coach Sue Semrau adds,
"They get me excited and I know how excited they are and I'm excited for them, with them."
FSU senior guard Courtney Ward adds,
"I don't say it gets old but I guess each year we have a reason to prove that we are better."
To even some members of the teams surprise FSU was picked as a three seed out of the Dallas region, and will face Samford in the opening round at Auburn.
Cierra Bravard adds,
"We got a great seed and we're as close to home as we could have gotten so we could not have asked for a better placing."
Sue Semrau adds,
"They have a lot of great shooters there and they're smaller than we are, which could pose some match up problems for us on the defensive end. We have to find a way to be able to chase around a lot of quick kids."
The 'Noles and Bulldogs last met in 2007, and took a Jacinta Monroe put back at the buzzer for Florida State to get the one point win. The two will tip things off in the opening round of the tournament Sunday at 5:00PM.
