Tallahassee, FL -- Michelle Jenije's senior season has so far been her best.

"We started the indoor season really strong. I was just really excited to see what would come from that and it ended up being a really big year for me."

"We knew that she was going to give us whatever she could which was going to be high placing in the ACC, probably a national qualifier," adds Bob Braman, FSU head track and field coach.

The Tallahassee native is coming off an indoor performance where she was ACC runner up in the triple jump, was named ACC field performer of the year, followed by a silver medal performance at NCAA Nationals with a career best 13.54 meter jump.

Jenije adds, "I definitely had a good indoor season which I'm really happy about and I just want to really capitalize on that indoor season and continue to try to PR and jump bigger and better every day."

She opened her outdoor season this past weekend at the Texas Relays with a career outdoor best 13.47 meters.

"It's where we really put everything into a season."

All these accomplishments almost did not happen for the Seminoles. She went to Florida for her freshman year, before coming home.

"They welcomed me in which was just such a blessing to be welcomed back as if nothing had ever happened," adds Jenije. "They really helped me integrate into this team really well."
