Auburn, AL - Florida State freshman forward Natasha Howard has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s co-Rookie of the Week, league officials announced Monday afternoon.
The most highly-touted signee in FSU women’s basketball history, Howard exploded on to the collegiate scene with a game-high 20 points in the Seminoles’ season opener last Friday against Alabama State.
In the 89-39 FSU victory, the Toledo, Ohio native shot 80 percent from the field while showing off her incredible athleticism all over the basketball court.
Howard, who shares this week’s honor with Georgia Tech’s Ty Marshall, also had seven rebounds, one steal, and one block against the Hornets.
Florida State plays at Auburn Monday night at 7 p.m.
