Florida State head coach Jimbo Fisher, right, isn't taking any chances with quarterback Christian Ponder.
When Jimbo Fisher addressed his team at 6:45 Monday morning, this is what he told them.
"I'm not going to sit here and lie we are all disappointed. But why are we disappointed? Until we understand why we are never going to fix it. We have to understand why things happen. When they come down to the end game we want to make that play and we will learn to make those plays when we get them more, but they come down to that one play, why on both sides, why on either side of the ball the things we did that made us wrong."
Similar to last week, Coach Fisher spoke a lot about focus, that its just not athleticism and will that wins ballgames...but that his players must focus on execution in order to get things done.
"Coaches need to get them to demand and understand focus and put that killer instinct in there. Like I say, you see it every week across the country with all kinds of teams. That's why there's upsets, that's why there's things, you have to learn to develop it."
Coach Fisher adds that this key area is critical in getting this team to react the right way on the football field as they move forward.
"The athletes that are successful at high levels that's how they think. They don't think about the outcome, they don't think about the championship, they think about playing to win the championship, executing to win the championship, and that's how we are going to teach our guys to think." says Fisher.
