TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) --

A week after missing a game-winning kick in the final seconds, Dustin Hopkins booted a career-best 55-yard field goal Saturday night as time expired to give Florida State a 16-13 victory over Clemson.

Hopkins missed a 40-yard kick last week that allowed North
Carolina to escape with a 37-35 win.

Chandler Catanzaro's second field goal for Clemson -- a 29 yard
kick with 53 seconds left, tied the game.

EJ Manuel, who started in place of an injured Christian Ponder
at quarterback, scored Florida State's only touchdown on an 8-yard
run with 10:08 left to give the Seminoles a 13-10 lead.

Florida State (7-3, 5-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) remained
alive in its pursuit of a berth in next month's ACC title game
along with Maryland and North Carolina State.

Jamie Harper ran for a career high 126 yards and a touchdown for
Clemson (5-5, 3-4).

HEY PEOPLE this is about HOPKINS not anyone else. Lest ya forget PONDER HAS been doing great till he got hurt, not taken anything from EJ. I watched the game. Yes, we had Penalties. Gary take your own advice. Let us see if you got off your chair and see how many tackles you get and wow look how you hold that ball(got glue?) You need to read the stats about Reid before opening your mouth. CK Miami's stats on Penalties.

EJ played a good game. ponder is a great qb. anyone that dont think either of them is good, should go and try to lead the football team. It's always easy to sit in your chair and tell them what they do wrong. The defense really needs to tackle better, there were lots of missed tackles. The lines didnt' do as well as they have done earlier in the year. Maybe burt reid should be benched till he learns to hold a football and learns how to catch. Two games in a row now he has let the ball go inside our own 20. Look at the dropped balls he has had in the last 2 games. Jimbo, put him on the bench and let someone else try. Reid is not earning the right to play right now.

We lucked out. FSU played one of their poorest games on record. Just happened to fall our way in the end. The office was horrendous. Ponder is still the man when he heals up. We learned the lesson of flipflopping QBs during the Weatherford/Lee era. You can't accomplish squat when a QB is hesitant because he is worrying that one wrong step on the field will get him instantly benched. Bowden played that flip-flop game and our QBs had zero confidence because of it.

EJ is definitely a leader and top notch quarterback. He needs to stay at the number one slot and should have been in the number one slot from the very beginning of the season.

Ya Ya is right on the money. FSU gets caught cheating more than any other team and they are senseless penalties at that. FSU was beaten everywhere except on the scoreboard but that's the one that counts.

E.J. Played the best game of any quarterback in recent memory. We were outcoached, beaten teribbly at the line of scrimmage ( offense and defense) and E.J. played above the rest. Congratulations...we have a new quarterback. Also, I would like to state that this was a wonderful game of sportsmanship. FSU and Clemson Fans have a lot to be proud of. IT was heartwarming to witness a lot of what college football is about. Congratulations to Clemson and their fans for a well played, well coached game. I wish Clemson much success. Jimbo, now is the time to fully utilize the incredible talent of EJ. Ponder is an able back-up and can let his arm heal for the NFL. Were were outplayed everywhere but in penalties. We are #1 . No team can earn more penalties the us!
