FLORIDA STATE BASKETBALL PROGRAM TO HONOR SWEET 16 TEAM AT ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET APRIL 13 AT UNIVERSITY CENTER
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (seminoles.com) – Head Coach Leonard Hamilton and his coaching staff will celebrate the success of the 2010-11 Florida State men’s basketball team at the Seminoles’ annual Awards Banquet on April 13 at the Tom and Ginny Futch Ballroom at the University Center Club. The banquet, which is open to the public for $35 per ticket, will begin with a social hour at 6 pm followed by dinner at 7 pm and will include a special appearance by guest speaker and local media personality Preston Scott.
The Seminoles coaching staff will celebrate the team’s success in reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament, finishing in third place in the ACC standings and sustaining the consistency that has allowed Florida State to become the third winningest program in the ACC in the last six seasons. In advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament the Seminoles advanced further than any Florida State team since 1993.
Hamilton and his staff will also honor the careers of seniors Derwin Kitchen, A.J. Yawn and Andrew Rutledge. Kitchen was a member of three NCAA Tournament teams and helped Florida State win 70 games since the start of the 2008-09 season.
