Panacea, FL - The blue crabs were gathered and placed in holders for the octopi to make a decision. After a few minutes they went for the Auburn blue crab. Gulf Specimen Marine Lab said they plan on doing this with other games to generate funding for their octopus research. "And we did some other trials of which they were basically piling up on the Auburn side, but then the last couple of days they went straight for the FSU crab and ate the FSU crab," said Jack Rudloe, Gulf Specimen Marine Lab President.

The lab has been doing some research on octopi picking lottery numbers for the Florida Lottery Cash 3 game. So far the octopi has guessed seven out of 15 correct and have won them more than $300.
