Tallahassee, FL - Senior right-hander Sarah Hamilton has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week, announced today by the conference. The honor comes after she finished 3-0 last week with wins over South Alabama and North Carolina State.
Hamilton allowed just three earned runs in 21 innings pitched last week, striking out 23 and allowing just nine hits to 81 batters faced. Against South Alabama, Hamilton struck out 12 Jaguars – her second-most this season. She also pitched her second one-hitter of the season in the same game, and moved past former FSU player Julie Larsen for fourth-place on the school’s career strikeout list.
Hamilton has 846 strikeouts for her career, just 48 shy of moving past Casey Hunter for third place and 94 away from becoming the school’s all-time leader.
The Tallahassee native finished with a 1.00 ERA versus the Jaguars and Wolfpack. She now has five ACC pitcher or co-pitcher of the week awards for her career.
